POTUS took three or four questions at departure. He walked out alone and addressed the media. Not much news.
On former Ukraine ambassador Marie Yovanovich and whether his people deployed a smear campaign against her:
“I really don’t know her … But if you look at the transcripts, the president of Ukraine was not a fan of hers either. I’m sure she’s a very fine woman I just don’t know much about her.”
Your pooler asked why written Q&A isn’t good enough for the whistle-blower, when POTUS gave them to Mueller. He replied: “I think that the WB gave a lot of false information and you have to see who the whistle-blower is. The whistle-blower’s report was very wrong.”
“I released a very detailed version of that call. “The WB seems to have disappeared. And I also wonder what happened to the second whistleblower and what happened to the informant.”
He also spoke on arms control / nukes. “We are looking at arms control right now. We’re dealing with China we’re dealing with Russia. I think they’d both like to do it.”
He called it “a major arms control kind of agreement with Russia, China and maybe nobody else.”
He may have fielded a question on Iran on the hostage anniversary but hard to hear.
