*Subject:* Pool report #1 Ivanka Trump/Olympics

Good morning from Pyeongchang.

Its the final day of the 2018 Winter Olympics. Ivanka Trump is starting her day at the Olympic Sliding Center for 4-man bobsled competition.

Team USA has three team in the competition (start order 9) Codie Bascue, Evan Weinstock, Steven Langton and Samuel McGuffie (start order 20) Nick Cunnigham, Hakeem Abdul-Saboor, Christopher Kinney, Samuel Michener (start order 21) Justin Olsen, Nathan Weber, Carlo Valdes, Christopher Fogt

Before the watch the Americans slide, Trump met with the family of Weber, and also chatted up three USA athletes. More details/color and names of Athletes to come on that in a separate report.

She also made a short statement:

Im so excited to be here. Its just so incredibly inspiring. Its been an amazing couple of days, and such an honor and privilege to be here with our allies in South Korea and celebrate all that weve accomplished as a culture, a society economically and, of course, in sport. Last night, we watched in at the mens mass skate we saw the Korean take gold, so we were obviously very excited about that fact and obviously to be here and cheer on Team USA. We also saw the Mens team in curling take gold, also incredibly exciting and a great pleasure for us. Its such a pleasure. We are excited to (have) another great day and a wonderful closing ceremony. So thank you all for the warm welcome and hospitality.

Pool has been informed that we will not be able attend closing ceremony with Trump and U.S. delegation. White House officials said that Olympic organizers would not approve a pool for Trump because of logistical challenges.

I am told by U.S. embassy officials here that the Associated Press is serving as the pool photographer in the box where Trump is expected to sit.

I am also told that White House continues to deal with technical issues that are causing long delays in pool reports being pushed out to the wider distribution list.
