Chief of staff John Kelly left very early by the way and was not present for
Comstock chided Trump over his shutdown threat, issued moments earlier.
"We don't need a government shutdown on this," Comstock said, emphasizing both that both parties see the downside of a shutdown, and there is bipartisan support for a crackdown on violent gangs.
Trump interrupted and reiterated a willingness to risk a shutdown over immigration policy. "You can say what you want. We are not getting support of the Democrats," Trump said.
