Subject: Travel pool report #2 – Arrival in Lake Charles

Air Force Once arrived at Chennault International Airport at 6:45pm CDT and POTUS deplaned at 6:58 pm.

He was greeted on the tarmac by Rep. Ralph Abraham (R-La.), Lake Charles Mayor Nic Hunter, and Louisiana GOP gubernatorial candidate Eddie Rispone.

POTUS announced the departure of Acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan via tweet seconds after we touched down. He said McAleenan is leaving to spend more time with his family and explore a career in the private sector.

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) visited the press cabin for a few minutes toward the end of our flight. He talked about the Little League players’ exciting day traveling with the president. They were fed Domino’s pizza during the flight and given plenty of custom Air Force One M&Ms to take home to friends. It was unclear whether they will attend tonight’s rally. Scalise briefly talked about trade negotiations with China and the USMCA, but there was no news as far as your pooler could discern.

From the White House:

Aboard Air Force One tonight is Louisiana’s River Ridge Little League Baseball Team, the Little League World Series Champions. Today, the President welcomed the team to the Oval Office along with North Carolina’s Rowan Little League Softball Team. During their visit in the Oval Office, the President invited the Louisiana team to fly to Louisiana with him this evening.
